It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year! If you’re like me, you start to think about your Christmas list early and make a plan. Or, you may be the type who waits until late December to get started. Either way, I know we all want our gifts to be the best, most unique gifts we can find! Check out some of my favorite Christmas gift ideas below to help you get started.

One of my favorite things ever is a one-of-a-kind bracelet I ordered on Etsy. This bracelet holds is very special to me, because it let’s me keep a little piece of my Dad with me whenever I wear it! To purchase your own unique bracelet, you simply need to send a photo of handwriting and then Vivian will do the rest! At the SilverHandwriting shop, you can choose from a variety of bracelet and necklace styles.

blog_christmas gift wallet

I sometimes find it hard to find personal, meaningful gifts for men, so I was very excited when I found a customizable leather wallet for Alex last year! We both love music, so I had the wallet engraved with the lyrics of one of our favorite songs…and now he has a reminder throughout the day. The shop I ordered from at the previous link offers two different styles of wallets and you an choose to engrave the entire wallet with words or just a name.

Enter FUNKtionalWearables, jewelry that securely hides activity trackers while doubling as jewelry. They have options for all of the popular brands, including Fitbit, Misfit, Jawbone, Garmin and Nike. There are different styles for everyone!

blog_christmas gift craft a brew

Do you have a beer lover on your gift list? If so, they may like to try their hand a brewing their own batch. Craft a Brew has 14 varieties, including cider, and their beginner’s kits come complete with enough ingredients to brew 12 bottles of home-brewed beer. Don’t forget to add on the beer bottles to keep your brew fresh. Alex and I previously brewed the Hefeweizen and he will likely try an IPA next!

If you haven’t figured it out from my previous posts, I’m an Amazon addict. If someone in your life doesn’t already have a Prime membership, consider giving them this gift that lasts for a year for $99. Prime membership allows members to purchase hundreds upon hundreds of items eligible for free, two-day shipping.

For the techie on your list, give them a gift that will be helpful to them each and every day — the Amazon Echo! “Alexa” sits in our family room and provides me information at the drop of a hat. Connected through Wi-Fi, this incredible device acts like a Siri for your home. I ask this sleek black cylinder for the weather report and I instantly know the current weather and the prediction for the rest of the day. If you program in your work address, Alexa will tell you how long your commute will take. While you’re in the kitchen cooking and your hands are covered in food, that is usually when you remember that you need to add something to your shopping list. Alexa comes to the rescue…you can simply say, “Alexa, add eggs to my shopping list.” Then, download the app on your phone and access your list once you get to the store. If I’m cooking and need a quick measurement conversion, Alexa has me covered! The Echo can connect to various household items like light bulbs, outlets, and others to let you control your home without much effort. The device also plays music at the drop of a hat and is perfect for playing your party or workout mix. This is an absolutely unique gift for someone who would appreciate this technologically-advanced home assistant!

blog_christmas gift_experiences

I am a big fan of giving experiences instead of always focusing on material things. Alex and I have often gifted each other a weekend away or tickets to a concert or an event we know the other would love. What does your loved one like to do for fun?  If it’s cooking, try out a cooking class together. If you’re local to central PA, Cornerstone Coffeehouse in Camp Hill offers classes in their Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen. Do you both need some time to unwind? Try a couples massage where you both can enjoy relaxing “us” time. I mean, we do have the Chocolate Spa nearby! If someone on your gift likes sightseeing, consider booking a lunch or dinner cruise with amazing views of your favorite city. Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia all offer sightseeing cruises. Be sure to check out Groupon or LivingSocial for deals on unique experiences!

I hope these ideas get you in a giving mood for the holiday season!
