Time to officially break out the winter recipes! This skillet meal is so easy to mix up after a long work day and will warm you right up.

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 package of fully-cooked polska kielbasa (I recommend Butterball’s turkey sausage version to save on calories…it has 65% less fat that traditional kielbasa and contains more protein!)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • salt and pepper

Start by chopping the head of cabbage…the pieces don’t have to be small, they will cook down once you put them over the heat. (And, yes, that is a leopard print knife!)

Then, coarsely chop your onion.

Add the chopped cabbage and onions to a large skillet…I like to use a big wok so I don’t spill! Add in the rest of the ingredients in the list and mix well. NOTE: If you’d like your kielbasa a little more well-done and crispy, fry it up with a bit of olive oil separately and add it to the wok with the other ingredients at the end. I like it both ways!

Cook over medium-high heat for about 18-20 minutes. The prep time for this recipe is only about 15 minutes, so once you add the cook time…you’re looking at a very quick and tasty meal prepared in about 35 minutes. This makes 4 servings.
