My entryway console table has been in need of a little updating. I usually work floral arrangements into my designs around the house; however, I hadn’t made one for the console table…until now! Continue reading “DIY | #ThriftedThursday – Textured Vase Makeover”

If you’ve been reading along, you know I have a sweet tooth. It hits me often, especially after dinner, when I just need a little somethin’, somethin’! I will start by saying I have never been a huge fan of nuts, save for the cinnamon-roasted pecans that smell so delicious at the mall. BUT…I have opened my mind to almonds and used them in a few granola recipes. This time, I decided to try something a bit different! Continue reading “Mangia | Chocolate-Covered Sea Salt Almonds”

When the weekend comes, I crave junk/fried foods. Actually, if I’m being honest…I actually crave it during the week, too…I just find it easier to quell that inner demon during the work week when I keep myself busy! But on the weekends, I now make it a priority to find meals that satisfy our cravings without completely going off the deep end.

Enter: baked wings! These can be seasoned any way you want and ALWAYS taste great. No breading involved here…but they have just the right amount of crispiness! I actually love these homemade baked wings even more than the fried version. Continue reading “Mangia | Baked Chicken Wings”

Welcome to the first installment of my #ThriftedThursday series. Lately, I’ve been inspired to breathe new life into thrifted finds, so I’m sharing with you how I make the old new again!

I’ll admit it…I have a jewelry addiction. I have amassed quite a collection of accessories and I love to find new and interesting pieces! But this also presents another problem…organizing my jewelry so I can easily see what I have, because I’m kind of an out-of-sight, out-of-mind person. I like to see what I have so I can pull together outfits with accessories. I decided I needed a way to keep things out in the open, but in a stylish, organized way. Mangia | Cheesy Lasagna Roll-Ups

Being Italian, I’m conditioned to love pasta…all kinds of pasta! One of my favorite ways to eat pasta is lasagna, so I love the idea of trying new recipes. While traditional lasagna includes meat, these lasagna roll-ups are perfect with just a cheesy filling. I’ve seen numerous recipes with spinach included, but I prefer my own cheesy, garlic-y mixture, sans the green stuff! These are fairly easy to make and come together quickly after a long day at work. To kick off this Valentine’s Day weekend, I decided to make Alex a romantic lobster dinner on Friday. It all seemed like such a good idea in my head…I mean, who doesn’t love succulent lobster tails at a restaurant? I wasn’t quite prepared for the preparation part of this meal…it was a little more than I bargained for with the uncooked lobster tails!  But I powered through and I’m glad I did…the meal was so delicious! Read on to learn how I pulled this meal all together. This is actually pretty easy to make if you still need ideas for dinner tomorrow! 🙂 Continue reading “Mangia | Broiled Lobster Tails”

DIY | Spring Wreath

Today is a special day…my grandmother, Millie, turned 99! I was so glad I could take off work for the day and celebrate her birthday with our family. She is just a really special lady…she is a picture of grace and unending faith in the Lord. While her eyesight and hearing are failing, I still hope I’m in as good of shape as she is when I near her age…and still wearing snazzy outfits with all the right accessories!
